What about all the details…

  • My approach to each birth is as unique as the birth itself. I really try to connect with my clients leading up to birth, and adapt my approach to fit the energy that will best suite them. Some women desire to have their birth documented with little distraction from their birth team, with only them and their partner in connection. Other mothers really thrive with lots of encouragement and support from their birth team. I read the room, and match the energy that each birth demands of me. For some, they might even notice my presence much, and for others I am a vital, and vocal part of their birth support team.

  • The simple answer is -- Yes. I do use flash at some point, at the majority of births I attend. It is so important to me to give you sharp, fully focused images of your birth, and usually that requires some sort of light source, I find that flash is so much less distracting than turning on overhead lights at your birth. I am very intentional and respectful with my flash; never ever aiming it directly at you or your baby, but instead bouncing it behind from off of walls or ceilings. I have never had a family tell me that the flash bothered them, and most don't even realize I used one! Though of course, I am confident enough to document your birth in a beautiful way, if you choose not to have flash at your birth.

  • I do offer payment plans! Though the commitment and skill required to document births in the way that I do is reflected in my pricing, I still never want a family to miss out on documenting the arrival of their baby due to financial constraints. For this reason I am always happy to chat through payment arrangements and options that would best serve your family.

  • The on call life is truly such a tricky one! I begin my on call time for you the moment you sign your contract. What that means is that I am available to you any day, any time, from the moment you sign your contract, to the moment your baby is in your arms. I have adapted my entire lifestyle to making this possible. I do not drink alcohol, I do not leave town without a firm backup in place and communication with you, I do not leave my phone on silent or unattended ever, I do not go on any hikes that might leave me with no cell reception, my family and I take 2 vehicles almost everywhere in case I need to leave to support a family. My entire life is truly set up in a way that honors my commitment to you and your birth.

  • Waiting for your birth images can be such a tough wait, but I assure you it is SO worth it! I typically send 4-6 images within 24 hours of leaving your birth as a sneak peek. Then I begin working hard on your full gallery and birth video, with most families receiving them both within about 3-4 weeks.

  • I typically do not take more than 5 births in one month, to ensure I am easily able to honor my promises to each family while still maintaining a work/life balance with my own family.
